Mulligan Stew June 22nd 2019- Ewan Currie Interview

hello

There’s a Sheepdog in The House!!

His name is Ewan Currie and he’s the lead singer and principal songwriter of
Saskatoon’s Sheepdogs.

In 2011 they were the first unsigned band to appear on the cover of Rolling
Stone Magazine. They outplayed and outlasted 15 other bands/artists to walk
away with one of the biggest breaks any new band could have imagined.

According to Ewan it’s been a blur every since.

This very year, The Sheepdogs have played over 70 shows.  It’s June. There’s
a whole Summer to go and The Fall.

These guys are the Rock version of the Energizer Bunny.

The Sheepdogs play the Calgary Stampede July 7th at the Big 4 Roadhouse.
With Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Corb Lund, The Sadies, and Whitney Rose.

Ewan Also brings with him new music from his latest solo album Out of my
Mind.

As for the other 90 minutes of The Stew  these are all  LIVE tracks

We kick off with Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton and Howlin Wolf’s Forty
Four.

Ep 60 | Keb’ Mo’ Podcast

hello

Jun 15, 2019

Singer, guitarist, songwriter, and four-time Grammy-winner Keb’ Mo’ talks to Terry about his new album ‘Oklahoma’, which was released this Friday. The pair discuss Colin Linden’s role producing the record, which features collaborations with Taj Mahal and Rosanne Cash.

Keb’ gives us the backstory on tracks: “Don’t Throw It Away”, “I Remember You”, and “Put A Woman In Charge”.

Mulligan Stew June 15th 2019- Keb Mo Interview

hello

Keb’ Mo’ is a charismatic singer/guitarist/ songwriter and four-time GRAMMY Award winner who has consistently made music that reflects his own passions and interests. In the process, he’s earned a reputation for his ability to make deeply expressive, highly personal music. Don’t believe me?  Check out the title track (Oklahoma), Put A Woman In Charge (Featuring Rosanne Cash), and Don’t throw it away, a song about plastics with Grammy buddy Taj Mahal.

But my fave is the first track,  I remember you and its first line which he says to the lady in the Red Dress

“My name is Junior and come from Memphis Tennessee”

Colin Linden produced the album and infused his love of blues and passion into each and every song.

This is a very special album.  Oklahoma from Keb Mo

Mulligan Stew May 25th 2019- Melissa Etheridge Interview

hello

Grammy Winner, Oscar holder, Broadway, Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Social spokesperson, media darling and fine human being.

Singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge joins Terry on Mulligan Stew on the CKUA Radio Network.
Her newest album is The Medicine Show.
Themes include Trump, Medicinal Marijuana, Parkland, Opioid Crisis, people forming a Human Chain to save lives. And yes, the Joy of being alive.
It’s been 25 years since we last talked backstage at Woodstock 2.
Frankly, there was a time I thought I’d never see her again. She was battling Cancer then. In typical Melissa fashion she beat back the insidious infliction and is now  15 years cancer free.

We welcome Melissa Etheridge to Mulligan Stew.
And check out the playlist. Wall to wall Saturday night music.

May 24, 2019

This spring, Melissa Etheridge released her 15th full-length studio album, The Medicine Show. In their first conversation in two decades, Terry and Melissa discuss how politics, the opioid crisis, and the Parkland school shooting had on the songs on her latest record. Plus, the Grammy Award-winning artist talks to Terry about her battle with cancer, where her songs come from and where they take her, and making cannabis-infused wine.

Ep 56 | TARIQ Podcast
